A billion Problems, One Solution
No matter where the rebels for peace work, we always focus on the same thing: to show that we have everything we need inside of us and that the potential of the mind is limitless. So while we work in a lot of different areas, it's the same work being done - because at the source we are all the same. That's why we work with kids, youth, schools, families, and even businesses. We do this by engaging both in informal impactful conversations and also implementing evidence-based curriculum to change the hearts and minds of people and together transform the world.
HERE'RE SOME OF THE THINGS WE'RE UP TO..
YOUTH LEADERSHIP INTERNSHIP - UNCOVERING THE INTERNAL JETPACK OF FUTURE CHANGEMAKERS OF THE WORLD.
We deliver 4-6 week-long Leadership Internships to youth ages 15-23. This is our flagship offering and is designed to unlock the internal leadership of all the participants, and support them in creating change in their life and community. It's a program like no other and uncover resilient, creative, strong leaders that can help transform the world from the inside-out.
CHANGING MINDS AND UNCOVERING RESILIENCE IN SCHOOLS
The Rebels for peace leadership team delivers state of the art resilience and mindset classes to youth in elementary school.
We use a mixture of fun, activities, and evidence-based Social-Emotional curriculums to create an engaging learning experience that ensures impactful and lasting change.
We don't teach or preach, cause sometimes you need someone to listen to you instead of telling you what you should or shouldn't do. We show the youth that no matter their age, height religion, or area they are from they can still make a change and be more than what they thought they could be. Growth is endless and with the power of their mindset there is no telling how far they can go.
DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO
We have had the opportunity to teach the top basketball team and top school in DRC about the power they have within themselves, helping them find and see that they have everything they need inside themselves to be great in life, no matter what the obstacles are.
With the power of their mind, they can grow into the person that they see their self being in the future. Helping see that courage, motivation, determination, and readiness are already inside them they just have to bring it out. Helping them see that life happened inside out no the other way around.
We had fun, played ball, talked laughed tried new food and overall had a great time and helped many people see that we all have the spark inside of us we just need to bring it out. We can't wait to go back!
ARTS & MEDIA
We believe Arts, Media and Creative expression are a big part of creating change and changing minds. It is also a way to give people a voice and a way to share what's inside of them in a real and raw way.
Our Rebel for Peace Leaders has created impact-focused media and art around topics like violence, racism, poverty, sexual assault, mental health, conflict, and much more.
In our Podcast and live shows, We interview and highlight different people and organizations in Chicago to rebrand Chicago and show the positive sides of the city.
DIRECT SERVICES TO THE COMMUNITY
While our main focus is the mind and uncovering resilience, we also spend a lot of time engaging directly with the community. We have created and participated in community events such as showcases, toy drives, coat drives, food drives, etc, always bringing good vibes and leaving with unforgettable moments.
As an example, we gave over 1000 meals during thanksgiving and hundreds of coats and toys during our Christmas Holiday Bash.
MENTORING YOUTH INSIDE OF AND IN TRANSITION FROM THE JUVENILE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM.
We Partner with the Insight Alliance in Portland Oregon, and have been able to deliver classes and conversations over zoom during Covid-19. We help the youth see that life isn’t over, life isn’t failed, and that a new reality begins right now, in the present moment. Just because they are in jail, life still happens. You can still have inner peace, you can still make goals in life, you can still reach levels that you want to reach in life. Because happiness, motivation and inspiration happens from within, not the other way around.
MENTORSHIP TURNED INSIDE OUT (YOUTH DELIVERING TRAINING TO BUSINESSES.
Usually, when the business world engages with youth, it's a dynamic where businesses mentor youth - we want to flip that on its head. Our Mentorship Turned Inside-out events and programs creates an experience that we guarantee your business has never been through. Our youth-leaders will facilitate and share their experience and knowledge about the mind and resilience, and in turn, help your business culture, communication, and bottom line.
